Fort St. John

(pop. 19,000)

Fort St. John is The Energetic City, which reflects not only its natural resources, but also the vitality of its residents. Young, modern-day pioneers bring a competitive (yet friendly!) edge to the city.

Whether it’s winter, summer, or year round sporting events, Fort St. John has a facility for it.

The Pomeroy Sports Centre in Fort St. John boasts Canada’s newest Olympic-sized indoor speed skating oval, two NHL-sized ice surfaces, a heated running track, and a PacificSport Northern BC Training Centre. Fort St. John is your spot to host archery tournaments, cross-country skiing, curling, ice hockey, golfing, figure skating, karate, speed skating, biathlons, and swimming competitions.

We take care of our athletes. After that competition, return to your choice of hotel in town, many of which include saunas and Jacuzzis to unwind. Looking for somewhere to eat? Try some local favorites such as Tim & Tyc’s Bistro, Whole Wheat & Honey Café, or Roustabouts. In the mood for some music? In 2009 Fort St. John was designated the Music Capital of Northern BC. Every week you can find live music events throughout the city. From open-mic nights at local cafes and pubs to larger productions, there is something for everyone.
