Silver Star Mountain

ALPINE RACE CENTRE

275 metres (900 feet) of thigh-burning exhilaration! Keeping safety and performance in mind, the naturally rolling terrain and impressive drop will satisfy both elite racers and recreational enthusiasts. The dedicated Race Centre is home of the Vernon Ski Club and has hosted the 2008 President's Choice K2 Canadian Nationals.

REGULAR HALFPIPE

Skiers and boarders can work on their alley-oops and 10-80's in the halfpipe, thanks to an 18-degree slope and a 4 metre (12 foot) radius. At 140 metres long (460 feet), there’s lots of opportunity to catch some air.

AERIAL TRAINING SITE

Home to the Canadian Junior National Freestyle Championships in March 2007, the aerial site is an exceptional training venue for the pros to go for big air.

DUAL MOGULS RACE COURSE

Also home to the Canadian Junior National Freestyle Championships in March 2004, the dual moguls race course is a 275 metre (902 feet), FIS-certified course set up with wireless timing.

NORDIC CENTRE

Silver Star has more than 60 kilometres of groomed trails, as well as two fully certified biathlon ranges. Silver Star is known for its early snow, so the season starts that much sooner. Combine that with average daily temperatures -5 C (23 F) and 45 perfectly groomed mountain trails and the result is a truly incredible Nordic experience.

Both the Norwegian Nordic and Biathlon National Teams will train at Silver Star prior to the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games and the Russian, Finnish, Australian, New Zealand and Switerland's National Cross Country Teams are also making their way to Silver Star starting in December 2008.

NATIONAL ALTITUDE TRAINING CENTRE

Featuring a rock climbing wall, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, day spa and a waxing room.
