The South Okanagan Events Centre is a 5,100 seat multi-use sport and entertainment facility which features a retractable seating system which allows for either an NHL-size or Olympic-size ice rink, as well as full- or half-house concert set ups. This unique, patented design reduces the conversion time between hockey and concert configurations which results in great sightlines for hockey and concert fans alike.
The SOEC opened in September 2008 and is part of a 400,000 square foot complex that
includes the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, Okanagan Hockey School Training Centre and the historic Memorial Arena.
The facility is home to the Penticton Vees of the British Columbia Hockey League and the British Columbia Hockey Hall of Fame. This multipurpose facility can host hockey, basketball, family shows in any configuration, rodeos, diverse concert settings in various capacities and trade shows, and can accommodate just about any event.
