University of Victoria Centennial Stadium

The University of Victoria's (UVic) Centennial Stadium was extensively renovated in 1994 in order to host the Commonwealth Games. Centennial Stadium features a 400m synthetic rubberized track surface, as well as separate areas for long jump/triple jump, high jump, pole vault, discus, hammer, shot put, and javelin. Inside the track is a natural grass field for sports such as football and soccer.

It has a permanent seating capacity of 5,000, however the facility was renovated and temporarily expanded to 30,000 seats to serve as the main stadium of the 1994 Commonwealth Games. Since 1994 the stadium has been host to a wide variety of varsity, national, and international level sporting events including the 2007 FIFA World Youth Soccer Championships and 2004 Canadian Track and Field Championships (Olympic Trials).

The stadium is located on UVic's scenic campus, and is a quick walk to on-campus residences, catering services, auditoriums and classrooms, as well as several other recreational facilities and the Pacific Ocean. UVic's campus is centrally located, and is a 10 minute drive to downtown Victoria, its amenities and attractions, or a 30 minute drive to the Victoria International Airport.
