Abbotsford Recreation and Community Centre

Abbotsford Recreation and Community Centre, home to the Matsqui Blades Speed Skating Club, provides an international size ice sheet, and has been the host to several major short track speed skating events. In addition to the world-class ice surface, the new adjoining community centre and outdoor grass fields provide world-class dry land training.

This Open Town Square wheelchair accessible concept also has 14,720 square feet of gymnasium space, an 11,000 square foot fitness centre/weight room, a 5,200 square foot multi-purpose room, an indoor track, outdoor grass area, and a 25m (7 lane) indoor swimming pool.

With a population of over 160,000 residents; Abbotsford, the hub of the Fraser Valley, provides all the amenities of an urban city surrounded by British Columbia’s incredible countryside.

Athletes and coaches will feel welcomed to the community through the involvement of local schools and volunteers at community events held throughout their stay.
