Cominco Arena

The Trail Memorial Centre contains the 2,108 seat Cominco Arena complete with 8 foot high glass all the way around, excellent ice quality and a four sided video scoreboard system with live broadcasting capabilities. Eight large dressing rooms, ample space for equipment storage, and close easy access to excellent medical facilities make this facility an ideal venue for hosting international teams and training camps. The complex also contains an 8-sheet curling facility complete with large changerooms, lounge area and kitchen facilities. Other major amenities in the complex include a regulation sized gymnasium, with bleacher seating for up to 1,000 spectators, a full sized catering kitchen for banquets for up to 550 persons, racquetball and squash courts and a smaller sized Kids Rink ideal for warm-ups, scrimmages etc.

The facility has hosted many major exhibition hockey games featuring both the Canadian Men's and Women's National Teams, the Soviet National, Red Army, Junior National teams and the Montreal Canadians. In addition, the facility recently hosted the Hockey Canada 2007 World Junior A Challenge which featured the Under 19 National Teams from Russia, Canada, Germany, the USA and Belarus. This event ran for a total of 11 days and included training camps, several exhibition games and the seven day, twelve-game tournament. The Junior A's were a huge success and as a result, Hockey Canada has now endorsed the City of Trail and the Cominoc Arena as a pre-competition training location for International teams for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

The location of the facility is only 0.2 km away from a deluxe hotel with excellent accommodations and is 1 km way from the regional hospital with over 100 medical doctors and specialists.
