The Kerry Family, who envisioned a recreational facility where residents of the community would come together, graciously donated the land.
In January 1975, the Kerry Park Recreation Centre proudly opened its doors where today the Kerry Park Recreation Centre family is thrilled to offer South Cowichan residents an abundance of recreational activities and fun-filled events for all ages.
Kerry Park Recreation Centre has four sheets of curling ice and is home to 13 curling leagues.
Kerry Park Recreation Centre offers a standard size (200' by 85') ice arena with a seating capacity of 750 for sporting events. Public skating is offered during the winter season in addition to many arena programs. From April to July, the dry floor is available for lacrosse, in-line hockey, or trade shows and conventions.
Outdoors sports fields include the Kerry Park Recreation Sports Complex and the Shawnigan Hills Fields.
