Opening in November 2009, the new centrally-located Mount Pleasant Civic Centre will become a spectacular venue for sport and event hosting in Vancouver. Large enough to hold four badminton games or three volleyball games simultaneously, its 657 sq. m gymnasium will be appropriate for a multitude of indoor sports; the gym’s featured climbing wall will also offer a viable option for athletic training. Additionally, the 405 sq. m fitness facilities will give athletes plenty of training opportunities prior to and/or during competition. Its large dance studio could also serve as a performance area and/or provide added training space. Moreover, the centre will have multi-purpose rooms and kitchen facilities suitable for hosting event-related social festivities.

Prior to its completion date, Mount Pleasant Civic Centre has been shortlisted for the BC Rhythmic Gymnastics Provincial Championships to be held in March 2010.
