Osoyoos sits on the shores of Osoyoos Lake and is surrounded by beautiful mountains, orchards and vineyards. Located in Canada's only desert, the town is a growing world class tourist destination with five star accomodations, high class restaurants and beautiful award winning wineries.

Because of its location, climate and amenities, Osoyoos is the ideal place to visit for leisure or for training opportunities. The area has the lowest amount of annual precipitation and warmest annual temperatures which allows for participating in outdoor activities longer than in other communities. The lake is the warmest fresh water lake in Canada and is ideal for boating and swimming.

A short distance from Osoyoos, you can find beautiful and challenging hiking and biking trails and Mt. Baldy Ski Hill. Within the town there are two beautiful golf courses; tennis courts; a BMX track; baseball/softball diamonds; soccer fields; curling rink; Sun Bowl Arena, which contains a NHL regulation sized ice surface; Desert Park, which has squash courts, a gymnasium, a horse race track and a horse training arena; and the Sonora Community Centre that houses a full sized gymnasium, weight room, meeting rooms, and a commercial kitchen.

For those wishing to vacation in Osoyoos, there is a variety of accommodations from 5 star hotels to campsites on the lake. Enjoy award winning wines from any one of the local wineries or enjoy the sites as you wander through one of the many walking paths. Visit the Osoyoos Desert Centre and learn about the unique ecosystem that surrounds the community or check out Spirit Ridge, owned and operated by the Osoyoos Indian Band, and learn more about their culture through their interpretive centre. Rattlesnake Canyon Amusement Park and The Desert Model Railroad are a must see for families.

  • Desert Park Recreation Complex
    Desert Park Recreation Complex is home to a gumnasium, two squash courts, five baseball/softball diamonds and two soccer fields. Originally built as an equestrian centre, the complex still contains stables, a race track, and an outdoor arena.
  • West Bench Outdoor Recreation Area
    West Bench Outdoor Recreation Area is located beside the Osoyoos Highschool and contains baseball/softball diamonds, a BMX track and tennis courts.
