Both mountains offer a variety of winter and summer sporting activities and venues. From the Dave Murray Downhill, tube park, terrain parks and half pipes to hiking and running and mountain bike trails, all kinds of sporting events can be hosted.
The Vancouver Seawall extends along 22 km of the city's waterfront, including the 8.8 km loop around Stanley Park. Each year it plays host to many running and walking events and is the perfect venue for race organizers.
Whonnock Lake Park and Community Centre, located amongst the eastern hills of Maple Ridge, can accommodate a vast array of sport and social functions and is home to the Ridge Canoe & Kayak Club.
Located on False Creek at the edge of downtown Vancouver, Creekside Park offers organizers an ideal location for paddling and other boating events. Additionally its access to the seawall makes the park an appropriate site for run/walk/bike events.
Stanley Park is a world-class 400 hectare evergreen oasis utilized for a variety of sporting events. Apart from trails and tourist attractions, it houses an outdoor pool, tennis courts, cricket pitches, rugby and softball fields and more.
