UVic's athletic facilities offer an excellent training ground for athletes of all abilities including indoor and outdoor pools, several natural and artificial fields, fitness and weight rooms, a dance studio, outdoor tennis courts, squash courts, and two large gyms. UVic's McKinnon fitness & weight centre is one of the largest in Western Canada with over 18,000 square feet of weights and cardio machines. The UVIC campus itself is very scenic and is bordered by the Pacific Ocean and provides a serene training environment that is centrally located. On-campus residences and catering are available.
The Ian Stewart Complex boasts a field house, an 18000 sq. ft. Fitness/Weight Centre, an ice rink, a 25 metre outdoor pool, three international squash courts, a gymnasium, and many other amenities.

The objective of SportHost Victoria is to position Victoria solidly in the national and international sport tourism market as an optimal environment for hosting first class events. The services provided by SportHost Victoria assist event owners and sport organizations in accessing facilities, funding, accommodations, marketing, sponsorship, media relations and bid support.
