    2010 Legacies Now was created in 2000 to build support for Vancouver’s bid for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and ensure a stronger sport system in British Columbia. In 2004, the focus expanded to include developing community legacies leading up, during and beyond the 2010 Winter Games. As a not-for-profit organization, 2010 Legacies Now aimed to strengthen sport and recreation, healthy living, literacy, accessibility and volunteerism, using and inclusive approach. 2010 Legacies Now was an original partner of Hosting BC along with Tourism BC and the Province of BC. The program is now managed by the BC Games Society and the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Investment.
